See also [[_02022 Amble 3 – Plan]] _4 weeks from 11th April to 13th May._ My focus for this period was: software development and freelancing. My most important goal was to recover from the difficult start to the year: to end the period with self-confidence somewhat restored, a sense of capability, some momentum, and so on. I succeeded! I set fairly easy targets for the period, and I met or exceeded all of them. In week 1, I started and completed a succesful freelance engagement: [a Webflow-based app prototype](https://app.non-trivial.org/) for a friend and former colleague. In weeks 2-4, I focussed on [Inbox When Ready](https://inboxwhenready.org/), releasing three substantial updates and starting several user tests—most notably a "whitelist" feature for urgent messages and support for Microsoft Outlook. I also wrote a [blog post on Robin Hanson](https://sun.pjh.is/reading-robin-hanson) for the P32 review. I also spoke with two psychiatrists, reflected on their recommendations, and decided to try a major change to my medication. My average mood, mental clarity and mental energy during this period was much better. Something like 70-80% of normal. I remain concerned about memory and retrieval, though, a general sense that my mind remains somewhat "blank" and underfiring. Outside of work, life continues to go well—actually kind of dreamy. The two main clouds for the period were: 1. My mind still doesn't feel "great", and my confidence in my capabilities remains way below where it was last summer and early autumn. 2. I have no idea what my mid-term plan is, and I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about that. In normal times, I'd consider my output for this period "ok". But in the context of the previous two ambles, amble 3 feels like a big win, near the top of the range I could have reasonably hoped for. So—it's something to celebrate, and to build on. What next?
