### Dashboard and metrics
_Towards the end of Amble 3 I paid less attention to the metrics I'd set. I became less convinced in their usefulness; I was enjoying relying on "morning writing and must blog every day" as my structuring commitment.__
Lead metrics:
- "Showing up" metric: days where I started before 8am, and/or got in >2x prime time sessions
- [x] Target: >= 20 (>=5 / week) (actual: )
- [ ] Target: >=40 Toggl hours on S0, S1 and S2
- [Blog posts](https://sun.pjh.is):
- [x] Target: 1 per day, every day
- [ ] **Target: >=8 "writing" posts (2 per week)**
- EA Forum posts
- [ ] Target: >=1 (actual: X)
- 1-1 calls with philosophy tutor
- [x] Target: >=1 (actual: X)
- Tweets sent
- [ ] Target: >=4 (actual: X) (1 per week)
- (Evergreen) Notes written / edited #todo
- [x] Target: >=10 (actual: X)
Lag metrics:
_It's hard to come up with metrics that track the ultimate learning outcomes I want._
- [ ] \>3 important realisations / new concepts / viewquakes
- Not sure where the bar should be but I will try noting these in: [[List of viewquakes and important realisations]]
See also [[P32 dashboard & lead metrics]].
## Key questions
1. What are the structuring commitments I want to have?
1. Continue with Sunglasses, Ideally—but improve the format.
2. Evergreen note per day.
2. How can I improve the way I work on these commitments?
3. How can I improve the structure of my day?
4. What other work experiments should I try?
5. Bigger commitment to Penne, delay Oxford visit to March?
1. Yes. I will extend my lease until end February. Then Oxford all of March. (Can always make a last minute trip to Oxford in Jan/Feb if I feel too isolated.)
6. Run another salon?
1. No. Too distracting.
7. Actively invite more people to join the Penne d'Agenais coworking retreat?
1. Not before January.
## Week-by-week outline
**W47: Evergreen notes & gym upgrades to support my [[Training]]; review notes repo; Wrap on Swagman**
**W48: Study**
**W49: Study: (Intuitionists) Parfit, Sharon Hewit-Rawlette, Sidgwick; Nietzsche (Nietzsche's values; Beyond Selflessness; Reginster: Affirmation of Life),**
**W50: Study**
**W51: Study**
**W52: Study**

## Side projects & fun
I will work on these for fun, rest, or if I'm feeling temporarily blocked or low energy about my main projects. I will spend 0-10% of my time on them.
- [ ] Try the local karaté / MMA class
- [x] Host the next screening of [[PDA Film Club]]
- [ ] Learn basic Italian
- [x] >2 hours on [[-D]]
Maybe:
- Host 1-2 more guests at the Penne Coworking Retreat

## Do not do
- Schedule lots of calls and meetings.
- More than 5 hours of coding. If want something, write the spec and hire a developer.
- More than 3 days on SaaS side-projects
- Get non-trivially drawn into other people's projects. During this period, hours is okay, but days or weeks is not.
## Key uncertainties; alternatives considered; ideas that didn't quite make the cut
- Stick with original plan to go to Oxford in mid-January.
- No. The prospect doesn't make my heart sing. It feels distracting. I feel like I'm moving around too much. This Penne setup is very good. I feel better about going to Oxford for a month in March, then perhaps again later in spring, or in July.
- Counter: imagine you had been offered a fantastic apartment in Oxford.
- Counter-counter: well that's the thing—it's not going to happen because Oxford housing is bad and I'm not willing to spend more than a day looking for a short-term place.
## Prompts and trigger questions
- [x] Life areas check
- [x] What is the 10x more ambitious version?
- Reflection from Amble 3 is still relevant.
- [ ] Pre-mortem: it's the end of the period and something went badly wrong. What was it?
- Reflection from Amble 3 is still relevant.
- [x] What should I cut?
- [x] Does this plan play to my strengths? Does it exploit, develop or help reveal my "edge"?
- [x] Does this plan make sense from perspective of 2-10 year vision?
- [x] Thinking sideways; refactoring
